About the Moderator
Amy Scharff is Leadership Councilâs president and lead moderator. She has worked as a business writer, editor, and marketing executive for more than 20 years â including running her own writing business, serving as  Director of Marketing for COCA, and developing and writing websites for e-business ventures. She has taught and led workshops in group dynamics, creative writing, communication, and leadership. Using her training in group dynamics that now informs  Leadership Council, Amy ran teen peer groups at international leadership camps in Switzerland and facilitated SUIEâs Family Business Council. Amy has been trained in peer-group moderation  by one of Young Presidents Organization (YPO)âs original Forum training authors, an international consultant on group dynamics. Through her unique background in group dynamics, leadership training, education, and mindfulness practices,  Amy is dedicated to  maximizing Membersâ take-aways and  orchestrating unparalleled depth and growth in every group.
My Values & Beliefs
A good moderator is invisible.
I bring keynotes of wisdom, background knowledge, and stories to the conversation when appropriate. But, allowing our members to learn and grow from each other is how they truly grow in their leadership.
Leadership doesnât have to be a solitary experience.
We guide executives to learn from one another through diverse peer groups, frank and open conversation, and experience sharing in a confidential, supportive setting.
You need to have FUN!
People need âwhitespaceâ to think better and be productive. Fun conversations are good for the soul and increase mental and emotional energy.
My Approach
I had the privilege of being trained in peer-group moderating by one of the original YPO Forum creators, which is rooted in dedication and desire to increase our members’ understanding, wisdom, and personal growth. Every leader affects the people, organizations, and communities that surround them. Through structured, high-caliber peer interactions, we enable leaders to become the best versions of themselves, maximizing the positive impact of their individual ârippleâ effects.
